This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard information when you visit https://cheerfulgiversfc.com/ (the “Site”) and when you interact with us in connection with our financial consulting services (collectively, the “Services”).

At Cheerful Givers, we provide a compassionate, judgment-free environment designed to help you achieve financial peace. We treat your personal data with the same care and respect that we aim to bring to every client conversation.

1. Introduction and Commitment to Privacy

This Privacy Policy is intended to be clear and practical. We may collect personal information and certain financial information to deliver our Services (like budget planning, bill organization/automation support, and spending tracking with SMART goals). We use that information for service delivery, customer support, and related operational purposes.

Important note: We are a financial consulting/coaching business. We do not take possession of client funds and we do not require your banking login credentials to provide our core Services.

We are committed to complying with applicable privacy and data security laws and standards, including, where applicable, the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act (“GLBA”) and relevant Alabama requirements.

2. Information Collection (Personal and Financial Data)

We may collect the following categories of information:

      • Personal Identification and Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, mailing address (if provided), and other information you choose to share through forms, scheduling tools, intake questionnaires, or consultations.

      • Financial Information You Choose to Provide: Information you voluntarily share so we can provide the Services, such as income and pay schedule, expenses, budgets, spending categories, debts and balances, bill due dates, savings goals, and other financial goals or notes.

            • We do not request or require your online banking username/password for our core Services. If you choose to share account numbers or supporting documents, you do so voluntarily, and we recommend redacting sensitive fields when feasible.

        • Service and Communication Information: Records of communications (emails, messages, calls), appointment information, and notes related to the Services you request.

        • Website and Device Information (Usage Data): IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, pages viewed, links clicked, timestamps, referring/exit pages, and similar analytics data.

        • Cookies and Similar Technologies: As described in Section 7, we and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar tools to operate the Site and understand usage.

We may collect information directly from you, automatically when you use the Site, and (where applicable) from service providers that support our Site operations (such as scheduling, forms, or analytics tools).

      3. Use of Information (To Provide Services; Marketing With Consent)

We use the information we collect for purposes that include:

          • Providing and Administering the Services: Delivering budget planning, spending tracking, SMART goal setting, bill organization and automation support (e.g., reminders and setup assistance), and responding to your requests.

          • Client Support and Communications: Communicating with you about appointments, updates, requested follow-ups, and service-related notices.

          • Operations and Improvement: Troubleshooting, maintaining the Site, improving our Services, developing new offerings, training, quality assurance, and internal reporting.

          • Security and Fraud Prevention: Protecting our clients, our business, and our Site; detecting and preventing unauthorized access or misuse.

          • Legal and Compliance: Complying with applicable laws, regulations, and lawful requests; enforcing our agreements; resolving disputes.

          • Marketing and Promotional Communications (With Consent Where Required): Sending newsletters, educational content, or promotions only where you have consented or where permitted by law, and you can opt out at any time (see Section 6). We do not use sensitive financial details you provide for Services to market third-party products.

        4. Information Sharing and Disclosure (GLBA; Alabama; No Nonaffiliated Marketing Without Consent)

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only as described below, and we take steps to limit sharing to what is necessary for legitimate business purposes.

            • Service Providers (Vendors): We may share information with third-party vendors that help us operate our business and provide the Services (for example, website hosting, scheduling, email delivery, forms, analytics, document management, or customer relationship tools). These vendors are authorized to use information only as needed to provide services to us and are expected to protect it.

            • Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights: We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our agreements; to protect the rights, property, and safety of Cheerful Givers, our clients, or others; or to detect/prevent fraud or security issues.

            • Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, dissolution, or sale/transfer of some or all of our business or assets, information may be disclosed as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections and applicable law.

            • With Your Direction or Consent: We may share information with third parties when you ask us to do so or otherwise consent (for example, if you ask us to coordinate with a spouse/partner, accountant, or other advisor you designate).

GLBA and marketing limits: To the extent GLBA applies to our Services, we will provide and maintain privacy practices consistent with GLBA requirements, including limitations on disclosure of nonpublic personal information. We do not share nonpublic personal information with nonaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes unless we first provide any legally required notice and opportunity to opt out, and/or obtain your consent where required.

          5. Data Security Measures

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we maintain. These measures may include, as appropriate:

              • Access controls and least-privilege practices

              • Use of reputable third-party platforms with security features (e.g., encrypted transmission where supported)

              • Secure account management practices and authentication controls where available

              • Staff training and confidentiality expectations

              • Reasonable efforts to minimize data collection and retain information only as needed

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

            6. Client Rights and Opt-Out (How to Limit Sharing)

You may have rights and choices regarding your information depending on your location and the nature of our relationship. Your options may include:

                • Opting out of marketing emails: You can use the unsubscribe link in our emails or contact us (see Section 9). Even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may still send important service-related or administrative communications.

                • Limiting certain sharing: Where applicable under GLBA or other laws, you may have the right to limit certain disclosures of your nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties. If you would like to request to limit sharing, contact us using the information in Section 9 with the subject line “Privacy Request.”

                • Access, correction, and deletion requests: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain information we hold about you, subject to legal and operational limitations (for example, recordkeeping obligations, dispute resolution, or security needs).

We will respond to reasonable requests in a timely manner consistent with applicable law.

              7. Cookies and Tracking (Standard Website Tech)

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, help with functionality, understand usage, and improve performance. Cookies are small files placed on your device. We may use:
